Art + Design Preview combines course lectures, tours of facilities and buildings, sessions on effective and efficient learning, and information on becoming a successful student in an effort to provide participants with the tools and skills necessary to excel.
Dates: August 10 and 11, 2012
Design Preview begins on Friday, August 10th at 9:30am in room 103 of the Design Building. You don’t need to bring anything but yourself. (Dress casual; we will be walking around outside.) On that day we will tour Art & Design facilities and visit with the folks from the Center for Academic Success. On Saturday, we will begin at 10:00am in room 103 Design and we will focus on the studio experience and see how it differs from lecture class learning. Design Preview will end on Saturday 11th at approximately 2:00pm.
The only cost other than food is the pro-rated room fee of $175 charged by Residential Life to move into your dorm early. You must register for Preview by July 24th to request early access.
Dorms: For those of you living in the dorms, you will be able to move in starting at noon on Thursday 9th. You must register for Design Preview by July 24th in order to request early dorm access. You will check in at the front desk of the building designated for your “community” (this may not necessarily be your dorm). Residential Life charges a fee of $175 to move in early.
