The College of Art + Design offers programs for K-12 students interested in pursuing careers related to art and design. Through experience, these workshops teach students what a design professional does and about the opportunities available in that particular field. Below you will find what programs are being offered by the College.
Architecture/Interior Design High School Career Discovery Workshop
In this workshop, participants will meet professional designers, learn how they work, and learn how they prepared for their careers. As part of the workshop, students will explore design ideas in studios, go on field-trips, attend lectures, and participate in critiques and seminars. Through their experiences, the participants will learn what a design professional does, how they become licensed and the opportunities available in the fields of Architecture and Interior Design. The camp is sponsored by the School of Architecture, the Department of Interior Design, and the College of Art + Design.
The Workshop is a week long residential program held during the summer. Housing is in the campus dorms and meals are provided at the cafeteria for the duration of the Workshop. Scholarships are awarded to applicants by financial need.
