Undergraduate Program

The School of Architecture offers a Bachelor of Architecture degree. The program gives you the skills you need to produce and develop your own designs. Culminating in a semester-long project, you become familiar with the technical dialogue of architects and work to express your vision through the manipulation of space and form.

The Bachelor of Architecture is a five-year, 162 credit hour course of study, divided into three phases of study. In the first phase, you developing visual abilities through studio access to complete all first and second year architecture requirements, as well as math, English and physics courses (and other general education requirements in the sciences and humanities) before entering the third year. In the second phase, you learn to integrate technical and creative elements with specific architectural projects. You also complete a comprehensive design project. In the final phase, you develop and execute a semester-long project that incorporates all facets of your skills and knowledge.

The Undergraduate Curriculum

In this curriculum, normal course progress is imperative. A student failing to complete any required course more than one year later than the time designated in the curriculum is prohibited from advancement in the design studio sequence until the deficiency is corrected. All required courses listed through the senior year must be completed before a student will be allowed to enroll in the designated fifth-year courses. Courses listed below are to be scheduled in the sequence in which they are listed. Thirty-nine hours of general education courses must be completed as required by the University.
