The Design Shop in room 110 of the Art Building, provides equipment, suitable work space, and appropriate technical assistance for projects. Training is provided for specialized equipment to complete their projects. The shop has various tools and equipment available, including a table saw, miter saws, a radial arm saw, band saws, drill presses, belt sanders, spindle sander, a planer, lathe, and scroll saw. A number of hand tools, including circular saws, jig saws, palm sanders, orbital sanders, belt sanders, hand drills, routers, and much more, are also offered for student use. Necessary personal protective equipment (goggles, dust masks, ear plugs, etc.) is provided. You must supply their own materials, and the shop will supply reasonable quantities of glue, nails, screws, staples, glue sticks and sandpaper.
