PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS. Freshman or transfer students who want to apply to the Bachelor of Fine Arts program must submit a portfolio directly to the School of Art to be evaluated. If you are a non-art major or do not have a portfolio, you can complete three basic courses designed to build a portfolio. If you are admitted to the School of Art, the courses will count for credit.]

Content: Your portfolio should include 12 to 20 pieces completed during the previous year. Choose pieces that exhibit a broad range of your skills. Consult the individual concentration descriptions for additional portfolio requirements.]

Your portfolio must include:
• Self-portrait drawing from life
• Work in both color and black and white media
• Three drawings from observations
Please do not include work copies from photographs. Portfolio work may be in any medium, in finished or sketch form, and may be from an assigned class project or self-directed.

Format: Portfolios should be submitted in 35mm slide form. Each slide should be properly labeled with name, medium, size, and date of completion. Indicate the top with an upward arrow. Computer work on disk or CD should be digitally created and must not require installation of your software on a School of Art computer. Please contact the School of Art office to determine whether the format and software are compatible with the resources available to the Admissions Committee.]
