Christopther Theis retired from LSU in 2010 and was honored by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) in the same year by being inducted into the ACSA College of Distinguished Professors. The only other LSU faculty member to be so honored was the late Robert Heck. Theis currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri, where he has almost completed the renovation of a 1915 craftsman house in a historic neighborhood. He spends four months every summer in Colorado, where he is in the process of building a cabin (mostly by himself) in the mountains northwest of Fort Collins. He is also working on a book with the working title An Unnatural House: Architecture and the Idea of Nature.
