Claudia Kheel is an authority on Southern and Louisiana regional art. For 10 years she was director of paintings, prints, and photography at Neal Auction Company, where she is currently a consultant. Previously she was visual arts curator at the Louisiana State Museum and curator of fine arts at the Indiana State Museum. Kheel has presented lectures for Louisiana State Museum, Nunez Community College’s History Lecture Series, St. Mary Parish Landmarks, North American Print Conference, Mississippi River and Her People Symposium, and Natchitoches Historic Foundation. She was keynote speaker for Woman Artists of Texas Symposium at Heard-Craig Center for the Arts. As a contributing author, Kheel has written entries for Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, Printmaking in New Orleans, and Collecting Passions: Highlights from the LSU Museum of Art.
