Lisa West has studied medieval art history at Louisiana State University and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Her research interests have focused on fifth- and sixth-century Ravenna and Islamic metalwork featuring Christian themes. She is also interested in cultural heritage preservation. She has presented on her Master’s thesis topic, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, at the Louisiana Consortium of Medieval and Renaissance Scholars and the Susman Conference. Lisa participated in a panel on pedagogy and graduate student teaching sponsored by the Medieval Academy of America at the International Congress on Medieval Studies.
Lisa has taught art history in-person and online at seven institutions in Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, including CUNY, Pratt, and Moore College of Art & Design.
