School of Art

As an administrative coordinator, Jennifer Mayer helps support the day-to-day activities of the School of Art office, managing human resources, international services, recruitment needs, mail, student workers, answering phones, and internal communications with faculty and staff. Jennifer is also an instructor in the School of Art and teaches foundations classes.

Jennifer received a BA in painting from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri and an MFA in painting and drawing from LSU in 2009. She traveled to Europe for a study abroad program in the summer of 1995, which she recalls as a most amazing experience. She loves art—from the rush she gets when connecting with an art piece to her own creations out of the ordinary, she sees art everywhere she looks. Jennifer lived in eight different cities and six different states before settling in Baton Rouge in 1996 and has never lived in one dwelling for more than four years. She has an amazing preteen daughter and two dogs, Rosie and Cleo.
