School of Art
In her role at the LSU School of Art, Kitty Pheney serves as a liaison between the school and community, on and off campus, developing opportunities to foster collaboration.
Kitty has been in arts administration for almost 20 years. Her experience ranges from public art to grant writing, strategic and long-range planning, and nonprofit administration. Before joining the School of Art, she served as the director for the Louisiana Percent for Art public art program and the director of state and local partnerships with the Louisiana Division for the Arts, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. Kitty began her career in Louisiana by serving for eight years as the executive director for the Baton Rouge Gallery. She received her BA from Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana, and holds an MFA from LSU. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Baton Rouge Gallery, Of Moving Colors Productions, and the Baton Rouge Walls project.
