SUMMARY:Alex Camprubi\, "Landscape Intelligence"
DESCRIPTION:Alex Camprubi\, design director of PuBang Design Institute\, will lecture on “Landscape Intelligence” at the LSU Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at 5 p.m. on Wednesday\, October 19\, 2016\, in the LSU Design Building Auditorium (room 103).\nCamprubi believes that design is a powerful way to create and improve our surrounding\, that architecture and design are not only the result of ideas\, passion\, team work\, administration\, experience and knowledge\, but of the respectful relation one can build with people around to make future happen harmoniously. \nHe believes there is no innovation without research and exploration\, and that innovation is an instrument which opens potential opportunities and redefines markets which in turn influence places to be successful. \nHe has served as design director of the PuBang Design Institute\, a design practice in Guangzhou\, Guangdong\, China\, since 2007. Camprubi lectures often on the research done by him and his team on place-making\, neuro-urbanism\, landscape intelligence\, and sustainable practices in architecture. \nCamprubi is an international associate of Hong Kong AIA and a member of ISOCARP\, Urban Land Institute\, Ekistics\, and ASLA. He is vice-president of the International Landscape Industry Association in China and a member of the technical committee of the Asian Habitat Society with consultative status with the United Nations (ECOSOC). He has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of urban design\, architecture\, and landscape architecture. \n\nProfessionals who attend this lecture qualify for one hour of continuing education credit\, thanks to the support of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects\, lcasla.org.
