Passionate about design and teaching, John Campbell, FASID, practiced interior design for over 40 years. His firm, John Campbell Design Associates, has been providing design services for many years to projects large and small, across the country from Florida to Idaho/Washington and back to Louisiana.
John received the highest honor within the American Society of Interior Design when he was inducted into the College of Fellows for his work within the organization promoting professionalism and licensure of interior designers in Louisiana; for his efforts on ASID chapter and national boards; and for passing the torch, through teaching, to countless young designers. For his efforts in licensure, he was issued Louisiana ID Registration #8. He is a past president of the Louisiana District Chapter of ASID (now South Central Chapter) which encompasses Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.
Before coming to LSU in January 2009, John taught interior design, history of interior design, and visual technology and design at the University of Idaho while simultaneously teaching interior design at Washington State University.
John retired from LSU in 2019 and passed away in February 2020.
