Israt Jahan is a Doctor of Design candidate in the LSU College of Art & Design, focusing in the intersection of architecture, climate change adaptation, and cultural heritage preservation. Her research emphasizes on community participation coastal resilience, engagement, and climate policy integration for vulnerable coastal and urban areas.

Israt holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science in Disaster Management. Her prior research includes biomimicry in urban infrastructure, energy-efficient building design, and vertical housing systems for densely populated cities.

Israt teaches ID 2770 — Color and Illumination I, exploring the theory, nature, and creative use of color and light in design. She has four years of professional experience in architectural practice and interior design, bringing both practical expertise and academic insight to her teaching and research.
