The LSU School of Art Alfred C. Glassell Jr. Exhibition Gallery
The Alfred C. Glassell Jr. Exhibition Gallery at the Shaw Center for the Arts is the LSU School of Art’s ultra-contemporary exhibition space that brings artwork of the highest caliber to Baton Rouge. Exhibitions at Glassell Gallery challenge viewers to look seriously at works that raise questions and evoke responses. The gallery is the School of Art’s “window to the world,” which affords an exciting set of possibilities for reaching out to the community and allowing others to see the strengths of the art program at LSU.
A varied programming calendar ensures there is always something exciting to see in the gallery. Visitors can view works by contemporary artists from around the country, follow the development of LSU School of Art students, and see the most recent work of School of Art faculty.
Enjoy the gallery’s thriving downtown atmosphere. Whether you wish to spend an afternoon strolling through the gallery, meeting artists at special receptions, or furthering your understanding of contemporary art by attending a lecture, Glassell Gallery has something for you!
The Glassell Gallery is part of the LSU School of Art Glassell Gallery Group. The gallery is open to the public, and admission is free.
