Landscape Architecture
As a creatively driven landscape architect and urban planner, Rob provides design leadership across multiple facets of the built environment and public realm. Rob is a partner at Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, and leads the firm’s Kansas City office as well as business development for the firm. With unique visualization, representation, and communication skills, he enjoys inspiring community dialogue and making abstract concepts more tangible for clients. Rob is also a strong advocate for sustainability in design, and has been involved in the development of numerous complex projects that thoughtfully integrate green infrastructure in the public realm. He approaches sustainability as a key aspect of the design with innovative solutions that place strong emphasis on both the visibility and performance of sustainable practices in the built environment.
In his free time, Rob performs regularly as a classically trained bassoonist and is an avid gardener. He serves on the board of directors for the Kansas City Rose Society, stewards of the Laura Conyers Smith Municipal Rose Garden in Kansas City’s Jacob Loose Park. He and his husband, also named Rob, are proud parents to a Morkie named Robbie.
