Mary Simpson

Mary is a UX designer based in Seattle, WA. After graduating from LSU in 2011 with a BFA in graphic design and a BA in political science, she’s been fortunate enough to travel to 23 countries on multiple continents and to hike hundreds of miles in beautiful Washington state.

Mary has worked as a front-end developer for CDK Global, a visual experience designer at Amazon.com, and is currently a user-experience designer at REI. She is passionate about accessibility design in the digital space, stewardship and activism related to increasing access to the outdoors, and using data to inform design solutions.

She has had the opportunity to work for clients such as the University of Washington, Yale University, Disney, Lucasfilm, T-Mobile, LEGO, Hasbro, La Roche-Posay, Lorac, Givenchy, Cadillac, Lexus, GMC, Buick, and Chevrolet.

She credits painting & drawing professors Ed Smith, Michael Crespo, and political theory professor Dustin Howes with having had a profound impact on her worldview from her time at LSU.
