Amy Campos, CCA professor of interior design, will give a Paula G. Manship Endowed Lecture to the College of Art & Design on Wednesday, September 30 at 3:30 p.m. in 103 Julian T. White Hall.

Amy Campos is Full Professor and former Chair of Interior Design at California College of the Arts and is the founder and principal of ACA (Amy Campos Architect).

Her work focuses on critical issues of durability and design with special interest in the impermanent, migratory potentials of the interior. The work spans a variety of scales and platforms from inhabited urban and architectural spaces to object and furniture design as well as writing.

Recent publications include the book, Interiors Beyond Architecture (Routledge, 2018), and the chapters “Survivalism, interiorization and exclusivity” in Interior Futures (Crucible Press, 2019) and “Territory and Inhabitation” in the Interior Architecture Theory Reader, (Routledge, 2017). She has forthcoming works in Interior Design On Edge: History, Theory, Praxis (Routledge, 2024), Public Interiority: Exploring Interiors in the Public Realm (Routledge, 2024), Theorising Interior Architecture and Design (Routledge, 2025) and is currently working on a new book titled, Upkeep: Repair and Maintenance in Adaptive Interiors (forthcoming 2025).

Campos has taught design for over 20 years in Interior Design, Architecture, Urban Design, Visual and Critical Studies, and 3D foundational studies at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Prior to joining CCA’s faculty, she most recently taught at the Pratt Institute and Columbia University.

Prior to establishing ACA, Campos’ professional experience includes working as a senior designer and project manager at Atema Architecture in New York as well as with SHoP Architects and Brian Healy Architects, among others in Boston, San Francisco, New York, and Florence.
