Inclusive Design Exhibition Reception

November 12 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Following the Paula G. Manship Endowed Lecture  “The Transformative Power of Designing for Human Experience” by Valerie Fletcher, Institute for Human Centered Design executive director, will follow a reception in the Boyce Gallery located in Julian T. White Hall.

On view October 27–November 12, 2025 in the Boyce Gallery, The Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) exhibition features case studies on inclusive design as well as IHCD’s work on LSU’s campus. Inclusive Design seeks to create a holistic context that minimizes limitations and facilitates better experiences for everyone. Inclusive Design is a framework for the design of places, things, information, communication, programs and policies that focuses on the user, on the widest range of people across the spectrum of ability, age and culture operating in the widest range of situations without special or separate design.

The Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) is an international design and education non-profit organization committed to advancing the role of excellent design in expanding opportunity and enhancing experience for all people across the spectrum of ability, age and culture. IHCD was founded in 1978 as Adaptive Environments and changed its name on its 30th anniversary to have an identity more reflective of current work. IHCD meets its mission through a combination of consulting, interdisciplinary design services, education and research. IHCD offers consulting and design services across the US and education and research globally in a range of portfolios. The team are deep content experts in both accessibility and Inclusive Design.
