Jonathan Chapman, professor, Carnegie Mellon University, will present a Paula G. Manship Endowed Lecture Series lecture at the LSU College of Art & Design at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in the LSU Design Building Auditorium (room 103).

Jonathan Chapman is professor and Director of Doctoral Studies at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Design. His research shapes design paradigms for longer-lasting materials, products and user experiences—an approach he defined in his acclaimed book, Emotionally Durable Design (Routledge 2005; 2015). He has developed this research with over 100 global businesses and governmental bodies—from Sony, Puma, The Body Shop, Philips and GSK to the House of Lords and the United Nations—advancing the social and ecological relevance of their products, technologies and systems. New Scientist described him as “a mover and shaker” and a “new breed of sustainable design thinker.”
