The Gala: Perceivable Atmospheres

The theme of this year’s gala is “Perceivable Atmosphere,” representing how architecture students as well as those in the architecture profession intrinsically interpret their world and how this interpretation defines how they design. Interpreting atmospheres is a necessary skill for architects and designers, a skill that is often expressed through artwork. The LSU NOMAS Gala “Perceivable Atmospheres” is calibrated to portray an artistic understanding of space that starts to form new imagery of how we collectively perceive our surroundings.

Light food and beverages will be provided.

Silent Auction

A silent auction will be held at the gala for the artworks created by the architecture students. A percentage of the proceeds from each sold piece will go to the respective artist, encouraging the designer to continue to produce art while also providing the artist with the confidence to articulate how they artistically perceive atmospheres. The rest of the proceeds will go to the LSU chapter of NOMAS.

Support NOMAS

With the proceeds, LSU NOMAS will be able to financially provide its members with the opportunity to attend the annual NOMA conference. The student organization aims to expose its members to professional, diverse individuals who offer professional direction in the field of architecture after graduation. All members that have attended a conference have responded as having a renewed sense and understanding of the field in terms of diversity and have expressed that the conference was an inspiring and positive experience.
