Songs for my Father is a reflection of the artist’s relationship to the process of grieving his father’s death. Drawing from personal memories, material items, and family research, Fox examine the ways his father’s absence has marked his life. This examination is represented in a series of photographs, each attempting to communicate that which is deeply felt, but not easily seen. The camera thus serves as a tool through which he visualizes and records the residual traces of his father’s presence.

Zach Fox is a senior in the LSU School of Art majoring in Studio Art with a focus in photography.
