The LSU College of Art & Design Spring 2016 Diploma Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13, in the LSU Student Union Theater.

LSU Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture alumnus Lewis T. May, FASLA, associate principal and urban design director of Page, a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm with offices in the United States and abroad, will deliver the commencement address. May will also be honored at the ceremony with a Distinguished Alumni Award for his multifaceted impact on the contemporary practice of landscape architecture and urban design in America and throughout the world.

May received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from LSU in 1969 and a Master of Landscape Architecture from LSU in 1973. Today, May is one of the nation’s most accomplished master-plan designers, with more than four decades of experience in planning, urban design, and landscape architecture for projects throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Africa as well as North America. May has received over 300 local, national, and international awards for his planning, urban design, and landscape architecture writings.

Due to limited seating and fire code regulations, each graduating candidate will be allotted only five tickets for friends and family to attend (candidates are not required to have a ticket). Tickets may be picked up at the in room 102 Design Building (Dean’s Office) between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Monday, April 18, 2016, and Friday, April 29, 2016. We cannot distribute tickets to anyone other than the candidates who are graduating in spring 2016. Candidates picking up tickets must have their picture ID.

After the ceremony, there will be a reception and Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Show at the LSU Foster Gallery, where refreshments will be served. All are invited and welcome to attend.
