Rodolfo J. Aguilar, PhD, PE, AIA, MAI, is former chairman & CEO of Pyburn & Odom MCA, LLC, a civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineering firm with offices in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. He is chairman, president, and CEO of the Aguilar Group, Inc., Real Estate Appraisers, Analysts, Consultants. The Aguilar Group, Inc. was recognized as one of the 2013 LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses by the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute.

Dr. Aguilar has been a Price-Babson College Fellow, Babson College; entrepreneur-in-residence, and is currently professor of practice at the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. He was a professor of architecture and finance at LSU for close to 20 years. Dr. Aguilar holds a BS in architectural engineering, a Bachelor of Architecture, and an MS in civil engineering (structures) from LSU; an MBA from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University; and a PhD in civil engineering (structures, engineering mechanics, and applied mathematics) from North Carolina State University, where he was a Ford Foundation Fellow. Dr. Aguilar has also been a National Science Foundation Fellow at the Illinois Institute of Technology and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is a registered architect in Louisiana and Mississippi, a professional engineer, a retired professional land surveyor, a real estate broker, and a state certified general real estate appraiser in Louisiana. He is also state certified as a general real estate appraiser in Mississippi and Texas. Dr. Aguilar is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

On April 30, 2012, Dr. Aguilar was inducted into LSU’s Hall of Distinction for civil and environmental engineering.
