Tracy Burns has taught interior design at LSU as a professional in residence since 2006. She co-owns Commercial Design Interiors, where she is also a designer. Burns is a registered interior designer in Louisiana, an NCIDQ certified designer, and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She has more than 19 years of design and project management experience in all areas of interior design, including space planning, programming, code compliance, cost estimating and budgeting, finish and furniture selection, contract administration, and facilitation of installations. She has been involved in a variety of commercial projects in fields ranging from government to healthcare. Her specialization includes AutoCAD and design-related software applications. Burns is also a member of the International Facility Management Association. Her work has appeared in several publications and has received numerous design awards from the International Interior Design Association and ASID.
