Courtney Taylor is an instructor in the School of Art who teaches Art & Ecology.
She is also the Director of Galleries for the College of Art & Design galleries, including the new Barnes Ogden Art & Design Complex gallery and the Laura and Clark Boyce Gallery in Julian T. White Hall (formerly the Design Building.) Contact Courtney for exhibition requests and inquiries.
Taylor is a curator and graduate of the LSU College of Art & Design Doctor of Design in Cultural Preservation Program. She earned a BA in history and art history from Hendrix College and an MA in Museum Science and Management from the University of Tulsa. From 2016–2021, Taylor served as Curator and Director of Public Programs at LSU Museum of Art where she directed collections, exhibitions, and public programs. At LSU Museum of Art, she focused on building a robust exhibitions program, including developing numerous traveling exhibitions and catalogues; reinvigorating academic and campus collaborative programming; and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives into museum policies and practices. Taylor was Assistant Director and Curator at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas where she managed collections, exhibitions, and education prior to moving to Baton Rouge. She has worked in collections, exhibitions, publications, education, and conservation departments at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville; Gilcrease Museum; and Philbrook Museum of Art.
