Joey Tipton teaches foundations as an instructor in the LSU School of Art. In 2002, Tipton finished his BFA studies at East Tennessee State University and moved to upstate New York. Every year for the next five years he moved at least once a year while continuing to make and show work and apply to graduate school. In 2007, he began his MFA studies at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Since completing his studies and earning an MFA, he has been making, showing, teaching, and doing contract museum preparatory work in Boston, Texas, and at the R. Solomon Guggenheim Museum in New York.
