LSU Graphic Design Students Win ADDY Awards for College Publications

LSU graphic design students picked up several prizes at this year’s local ADDY Awards for work they did on the College of Art+Design’s Annual Report, Newsletter, David Baird poster and lecture series poster. All publications were designed and produced by the Graphic Design Student Organization, or GDSO, which is supervised by faculty from the School of Art.

Gold ADDYs were awarded to: Sydney Nakashima for the College of Art+Design 2008 Newsletter; to Lauren Barron for the David Baird poster and, to Chase Freeman, Phil Winfield, Sydney Nakashima and Hannah Reed for the CoAD 2008 Annual Report. A silver ADDY was awarded to Chase Freeman and Phil Winfield for the School of Art’s Lecture Series poster.

“We’re extremely proud of these students and of the work of the GDSO,” said Dean David Cronrath. “We’ve always known what high quality work the GDSO can produce. It’s gratifying to know the professional design community appreciates it as well.”

The ADDY awards are conducted by the American Advertising Federation at the local, regional and national level. They recognize all forms of creative excellence from media of all types. LSU students were recognized as student winners in the Baton Rouge-area competition.
