Lynne Baggett Wins Silver in Create Awards

(Baton Rouge) – Lynne Baggett, an associate professor of graphic design in the LSU School of Art, is a silver winner in the 2007 Create Awards competition. Baggett received the award in the category of graphic communication illustration for her entry “Check the Fine Print II” on a Last and Fast postcard. Hers was among more than 2,400 entries in the international competition, which was judged by more than 20 leading professionals spanning eight creative industries. Only 235 awards were given.

The Create Awards (www.thecreateawards.com) is produced by Create Communications, publishers of Create Magazine. The intense creative competition included 40 categories and 300 subcategories in eight major creative industries including: advertising and art direction, film and video, motion graphics, graphic communication, photography, printing and packaging, interactive, copy writing, self promotion, and student work from creatives all over the world.

Baggett, originally from England, received her degrees in graphic design from Stockport College of Technology and the University of Derby. After graduating in 1988, she worked as a graphic designer in London. She has taught at LSU since 1994, and her professional graphic design work has received recognition from numerous organizations, including the American Institute of Graphic Arts in New Orleans, the Southeast Museum Conference, the American Advertising Federation, and the Advertising Federation of Greater Baton Rouge.
