Katie Bailey is from Columbus, Ohio, although she now resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Currently she is getting her DDes in Museum and Archival Studies at LSU. She is also a graduate research assistant working on the PROTECCT-GLAM Project. Her doctoral thesis will include creating an 1865 map of New Orleans, showcasing the addresses and employment locations of the men drafted into the Union Army. She currently serves as an instructor for LSU’s Ochsner Lifelong Learning Institute. Katie received her B.A. in History from Ashland University in 2019 and her M.A. in American History from Louisiana State University in 2022. Recently, in May 2024, she received her MLIS and Graduate Certificate in Archival Studies, also from LSU.
