The Art Guys to Visit LSU
(Baton Rouge) – The Art Guys, a critically acclaimed collaborative art team from Houston, Texas will visit the LSU School of Art next week, where they will spend several days meeting with students and sharing their vision and creative insights.
In addition, as part of the School of Art’s Visiting Artist Lecture Series, The Art Guys will give a public lecture about their work on Thursday October 30 at 6 PM in the Design Building lecture hall, room 103, on the LSU campus.
The Art Guys (Michael Galbreth and Jack Massing) have worked together since 1983 and have earned a national reputation for their unique and entertaining approach to art. They work in many different media, including performance/conceptual art, video, sculpture and drawing. Their work is noted for being meticulously crafted, witty, funny and poignant and has been described as a cross between Dada and David Letterman, John Cage and the Smothers Brothers.
