“Inconceivable,” LSU School of Art Lecture & Animation Screening
November 16, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015, at the LSU School of Art, four Austrian artists will discuss surviving the rocky terrain of non-commercial international art. An animation screening will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Art Building, room 330, the same day.
Christiane Spatt, Sabine Groschup, Elisabeth Zoe Knass, and Holger Lang will present examples of their work and their collaborations.
In their enduring quest for a true and worthy creative bequest, the artists have been working in a variety of fields crossing the boundaries of disciplines and domains. Based on a current joint exhibition in New Orleans, the transatlantic travelers will reveal unknown details of their work, manifest secrets of their interactions, and disclose intangible mysteries of their motivations.
As visitors from charming Vienna, a traditional cultural center of old Europe, they will bring some of the engaging flavor of life in a quaint foreign city to Louisiana. Their trip is sponsored by the Culture Section at the Federal Chancellery of Austria and Webster Vienna Private University.
