Queeramics Symposium Oct. 101-11 poster

The first Queeramics Symposium will be held at LSU October 9-11, 2019. Keynote speaker Dr. Elena Castro will present a lecture titled “The Cultural Politics of Queer Art. How to make a technogender body and why it matters.” Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in Tureaud Hall, room 204.

The Queeramics symposium will draw together members of both the queer and ceramics communities to examine issues of identity, culture and theory within each.

Performance:
Heather Molecke and Samantha Combs, Thursday, October 10, 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Studio Arts Building room 101.

Panel Discussion:
Tucker Claxton, Saba Torres, MacMcCusker, Caitlin Mary Margaret. Moderated by Ian Park. Friday, October 11, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Design Building Auditorium, room 103.

Exhibit Reception:
Queeramics 2019, Friday, October 11, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Foster Gallery.
Group exhibition involving queer artists working within the ceramics field. Participating artists are from around the U.S. and Canada.
