LSU Interior Design at Environmental Design Research Association Conference

Interior Design faculty and Master of Science in Interior Design (MSID) students represented LSU at the Environmental Design Research Association 2026 Conference hosted by University of Massachusetts Amherst.

MSID students Cristina Arguelles, Jasmine Jimenez, Matthew Edmonds, and Anna Calderon Montoya presented research posters showcasing their ongoing scholarly work, exploring topics including “A Crisis of Spatial Agency: Public Libraries, Urban Interior “Cognitive Restoration for Students with ADHD: Sensory and Spatial Design Strategies for University Informal Learning Spaces,” and “Integrative Urbanism and Cultural Preservation: Interior Interventions in Sports-Driven Urban Renewal.”

Assistant professor of interior design Huili Wang presented “From Users to Co-Designers: A VR-Enabled Participatory Approach to Studio Design,” and assistant professor Nolonda Jones presented “Teaching about Spatial Justice: Developing a Pedagogical Framework for Design Justice in Design Education.”

The Environmental Design Research Association advances research and practice focused on the relationships between people, the built environment, and natural ecosystems.
