LSU School of Art Students and Faculty Win Awards at New Orleans Design Competition
Students and faculty from the LSU School of Art picked up several awards, including a Best in Show, at the AIGA New Orleans Design Awards & Exhibition, which was held recently in New Orleans.
Students from GDSO received the Student Best in Show award for the Invisible Populations Campaign. Other student winners included J. Chase Freeman, a senior from Slaughter, La., for the “LSU College of Art and Design 2009 Newsletter,” and David Glover, a junior from Baton Rouge, for “Drainage!”
In the professional category, Associate Professor Lynne Baggett received awards for her “Fine Print Meltdown” and “Matrilineality,” both of which are typographic illustrations in relief. Assistant Professor Courtney Barr received an award for “Avett Brothers Poster.”
The annual competition celebrates the best talent in the Gulf South design community. The LSU winners were chosen from a field of more than 300 entrants.
