Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture Names Annual Award Winners
The Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture recently announced the names of its award winning students.
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) candidate Martin Moser and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) candidate Peter Summerlin each received the Dean’s Medal for which the recipients demonstrated excellence in a broad range of criteria.
Undergraduates Josh Brook, Brennan Dedon, and Martin Moser received honor awards from The American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA), and Bethany Campbell, Chad Caletka and Tucker Tremblay received ASLA merit awards. ASLA graduate awards went to Michael Petty (honor) and Peter Summerlin (merit).
The American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA) undergraduate awards went to Josh Brook (honor), Brennan Dedon (honor), Martin Moser (honor), Bethany Campbell (merit), Chad Caletka (merit) and Tucker Tremblay (merit). ASLA graduate awards went to Michael Petty (honor) and Peter Summerlin (merit).
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture candidate Martin Moser and MLA candidates Yue Guan and Peter Summerlin received the Academic Achievement/Scholarship Award for the highest GPA.
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture candidates Eric Thomas (2nd year), Sean Passler (3rd year), Luke Venable (4th year) and Josh Brooks (5th year) received the Leadership Award for demonstrated skills and success as studio class leaders in their respective programs. Master of Landscape Architecture candidates Lydia Gikas (1st year), Audrey Cropp (2nd year) and Peter Summerlin (3rd year) received the Leadership Award as well.
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture candidate Chad Caletka and MLA candidates Yuting Jiang and Peter Summerlin won the Studio Design Award for evidence in design demonstrated through studio performance and related activities.
For excellence in design implementation and technology, BLA candidate Brennan Dedon and MLA candidate Devon Boutte won the Design Implementation and Technology Award.
For excellence in history and theory demonstrated through relevant courses, BLA candidate Martin Moser and MLA candidate Devon Boutte won the History and Theory Award.
For excellence in natural systems/environmental emphasis demonstrated through research, design, planning or relevant courses and studio work, BLA candidate Greg Trahan and MLA candidate Peter Summerlin won the Natural Systems/Environmental Award.
For excellence in representation demonstrated thru representation courses and studio work, BLA candidates Josh Brooks and Chad Caletka and MLA candidate Devon Boutte won the Representation Award.
For highest excellence in the process, product and presentation of a capstone project, BLA candidates Josh Brooks and Martin Moser won the Best Capstone/Thesis Project Award.
The Teaching Award (for MLA only) went to MLA candidate Peter Summerlin for excellence in teaching as observed by faculty members, student evaluations and prepared course materials.
The Service Award (for BLA or MLA) went to MLA candidates Josh Brooks and Michael Petty for excellence in service demonstrated by assistance provided to the School, College, University, community, or profession. Both men won the Director’s Award, and Josh Brooks also won the Hilltop Award (Peggy Coates).
