Five LSU College of Art & Design Alumni Honored at Second Annual Celebration of Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses
Five LSU College of Art & Design Alumni will have their businesses honored at the second annual LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses hosted by LSU and the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute (SEI) on Friday, March 23, at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge. A reception for the honorees will be held Thursday, March 22, at the Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU.
Honorees include: Dana Brown (’79, Environmental Design), president of Dana Brown Landscape in Baton Rouge; Kurt Culbertson (’76, Environmental Design), chairman of Design Workshop in Denver; Brian Hanlon (’84, Environmental Design), owner/partner of Mesh Design in Baton Rouge; Chuck Sanchez (’96, ’04, General College) owner of STUN Design in Baton Rouge; and Earl Broussard (’72, Environmental Design), president and founder of TBG partners in Austin .
The LSU 100 celebrates the success of former LSU students and recognizes the impact of LSU on the local, regional and national economy.
Companies honored in the 2012 LSU 100 must meet the following requirements:
- Have been in business for five years or more
- Have had verifiable revenues of $100,000 for 2008
- Have a former LSU student as owner of at least 50 percent of the company or as chief executive.
- Operate in a manner consistent with the mission of LSU and SEI
- Officer, president or managing partner
The honorees will also be invited to share their experiences and successes with current LSU students in classrooms and student organization meetings.
“The inaugural LSU 100 was such a success, and we are hoping the event continues to grow,” said Jarett Rodriguez, associate director of SEI. “It is great to have the opportunity to bring former students back to campus and give current students the opportunity to interact with successful Tigers.”
