This course is offered during spring semester for interior design majors and minors.
ID 2776 ID Human Factors explores the interaction of people and the interior environment, and theories, principles, and methods for optimizing human wellbeing and performance. This course emphasizes the study of ergonomics and anthropometrics, proxemics, universal design, design needs of special populations, human diversity, and wayfinding.
ID3770 Color and Illumination II
This course is offered during fall semester for interior design majors and minors or with permission of instructor.
ID3770 introduces the fundamentals lighting theory and application with special emphasis on daylighting and artificial lighting. Student have the opportunity to utilize the Lighting Lab and explore daylighting design strategies.
ID 3777 Design for Health and Wellbeing
This course is offered during fall semester for interior design majors and minors or with permission of instructor.
ID 3777 Design for Health and Wellbeing introduces systems thinking as an approach to understanding how the interior environment impacts human health and wellbeing. Students examine the principles and practices of indoor environmental quality, including thermal comfort, acoustic control, and indoor air quality, and explore design theories and processes for improving the quality of life through design.
ID4772 Sustainable Design Practice
This course is offered during the summer semester for interior design majors and minors or with permission of instructor.
ID4772 introduces the WELL Building Standard, the leading tool for advancing health and well-being in buildings globally. This Standard is an evidence-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring the performance of building features that impact health and well-being.
ID4758 and ENTR 4100 Introduction to Healthcare Innovation
This pilot course was offered in spring 2019 as an interdisciplinary elective for students interested in exploring contemporary trends and future practices in healthcare systems, including health models and equity, policy and administration, innovative business practices, advanced digital technologies, and the built environment.

Facilities
The School of Interior Design maintains a state-of-the-art Lighting Lab and Materials Lab. The Lighting Lab provides opportunities for students and faculty to explore the impact of artificial lighting and daylighting in the interior environment on health and wellbeing. The Materials Lab features a collection of innovative materials and resources, and sensitivity workshop toolkits and ambulatory equipment.
